4th Utility has been recognised as Highly Commended in the Best Urban Fibre Provider category at this year’s prestigious UK Fibre Awards.
Our talented team returned from the glittering event at London’s Marriott Grosvenor Square Hotel with their heads held high, having also been shortlisted for the Best Community Support Project category.
The UK Fibre Awards, competed for by the industry’s major players, recognise the UK’s fibre pioneers, celebrating the very best in technology, projects, people, organisations, sustainability, culture and community initiatives.
Our entries for the two categories focused on our biggest project to date – to bring full fibre broadband to homes in Woolwich, a less affluent area of Greenwich. The judges clearly recognised its considerable success, with around 4,000 properties ready for service at present.
Steve Wilson, CEO of the Consumer Business Unit at 4th Utility, said: “Being recognised as Highly Commended at the UK Fibre Awards is another significant moment in our journey and a testament to our team’s hard work and efforts.
“With the launch of our social tariff in Greenwich and receiving significant investment from NIBC Bank, it’s been an incredible year for 4th Utility so far.
“The UK Fibre Awards are among the sector’s most prestigious, and our achievements there represent another major milestone for us, standing shoulder to shoulder with some of the leading players in the telecoms industry.
“Looking ahead, we’ll keep pushing the boundaries with the aim of creating a digitally inclusive environment where nobody is left behind.”
