Multi Champion Jiu Jitsu Fighter— Bruno Megiatto

Throughout his Jiu Jitsu career Bruno Megiatto has proven year after year that he is someone to keep an eye on. While he comes from the small city of Conchal in Brazil, he’s continued to aim high; he’s never been one to back down from a fight. After being diagnosed with appendicitis, he suffered from sepsis and organ paralysis. Doctors believed he had little chance of survival, but thanks to his good stamina from years of participating in sports he was rewarded with a strong immunity. Fortunately, he survived this rollercoaster of ill health and since then Bruno vowed to stay active. In 2013 he began training Jiu Jitsu, he says “it was a sport which became a lifestyle, an addictive sport, almost a religion and I never stopped.”

By 2016 his dedication to Jiu Jitsu led him to win the title of South American Champion. From there, he continued to earn more medals, these include Brazilian Champion 2017 and State São Paul Champion 2018. Among his other achievements are World Championships 2nd place 2016 and South American 2nd place 2017. A recent achievement of Bruno's was winning a 2nd place medal in the AJP England Tour National Pro 2022; this achievement proves Bruno's commitment and hard work has paid off.

After moving to London his busy work schedule left him with little time to train, nevertheless he was promoted to brown belt. He then decided to test himself and entered the London Open where he achieved 2nd place. As multi champion, Bruno’s new teacher has recognised his potential and assigned him as a trainer for other students. However, since the pandemic has prevented Bruno from competing, he continues to train and teach.

Bruno says, “Now, 4th Utility sponsor me, I have a new energy and the help and support to compete again. I’m ready to do my best for the company, as well as fighting on the mat.” He continues to express his elation over the continued support which has given him another chance to fight again.
